Customer Challenge
Forklift teams in a low-temperature warehouse had been using consumer tablets. Repair costs were high, failures interrupted picking, and there was no way to add a professional scanning module — so receiving, put-away, picking and stock counts could not be matched to the right scanning behaviour.
Configured Solution
TERVEX I10J 10.1-inch Windows rugged tablets were mounted above the forklift control console on vehicle mounts and integrated with the customer's WMS, so operators receive task instructions from the vehicle itself. A detachable barcode module works as both a forklift scanner and a handheld stock-count tool, and completed tasks upload over the warehouse Wi-Fi LAN.
Business Outcome
Labor cost per shift fell 30%, and the tablets run continuously at -20°C with no low-temperature shutdowns — removing both the equipment damage and the lost time caused by a device failing between two racks.
